Though most sexually transmitted diseases exhibit similar symptoms, however a careful and proper laboratory test and analysis would reveal which one a person may be suffering from at a particular point in time. Starting from gonorrhea, I would give a detail analysis of three out of the above.
GONORRHEA: In women, symptoms doesn’t appear early and even in some it may never appear. The symptom in women include; vaginal discharge, frequent and painful urination, abnormal menstrual bleeding, acute inflammation in the pelvic area and rectal itching (rectum) where solid waste passes out from the system. Symptoms generally appear 7-14 days after sexual contact. In men, symptoms are generally present, including painful urination, a yellow discharge of pus, and mucous from the penis. Symptoms appear 2 – 14 days after contact. The discharge continues 6-8 weeks and with time if not properly handled the effect continues to get worse. At the second stage is difficult to detect and so is often misdiagnosed as arthritis. The gonorrhea starts entering the bones, joints, tendons, and other tissues, causing mild fever, aches, inflamed joints, and sometimes skin lesions (damage to the skin or part of the body caused by injury or illness) in men, the outcome can be sterility.
As long as Ten (10) years later, the urethra may narrow or stricture, making urination difficult and at times impossible. This produces serious inflammation of the bladder. This occur more in men than women.
When women contact the disease unknowingly from their mate since the symptoms doesn’t appear so early, primarily because of their menstrual period. It may be there until it gets to advanced stage before the get wind of it.
The infection can travel up to the uterus, into the fallopian tube, and out in to the abdominal cavity causing Peritonitis (a serious condition in which the inside wall of the body becomes swollen and infected) and possibly death. If that does not occur then the tubes may eventually seal off due to the infection causing sterility and pus pockets which causes pains. |
